Linux VirtualBox Windows Windows 10

Set fullscreen resolution in VirtualBox

Screen resolution is a common issue faced in VirtualBox, it could be easily fixed by creating a custom screen resolution, please follow the steps below.

Switch off the Operating System installed in VirtualBox.

Step 1: Navigate to VirtualBox installation folder, open command prompt

Step 2: Enter command VBoxManage.exe setextradata “Operating System Name” CustomVideoMode1 1366x768x32

  • Replace “Operating System Name” with your operating system name
  • CustomVideoModel name with any name you want to give to resolution.
  • 1366×768 with the resolution of your system.

In my case the operating system is “Windows 10 pro”

Command will be.

Step 3: Settings on guest operating system

Now start the guest operating system, right-click, select “Display settings”

Click on Resolution

Custom screen resolution will appear in the list, in my case it’s 1366×7687. Select it.

Bingo! done 🙂

Similarly, it can be done for any operating system.
